Lady luck runs out on the 5th day.

Dear Parents seems like lady luck had ran out for our immersion trip at shanghai. Today a few of the pupils lost their belongings like HP, digital camera and even wallet. Come to think of it, the past few days we were in restaurants where pupils misplaced their personal belongings and thanks to all the honest people in shanghai, they have been returning things that were picked up.

However today we visited something really public and that was the Science Museusem and that was where the pupils misplaced their personal belongs. We did our best by bringing the pupils back from where we came from and retraced the path we took but chances of finding them were really slim. I am sure the pupils really learn a valuable lesson from these incidents.

I am so sorry that there isn't any pictures today. I am unable to upload any pictures to blogspot. The server from google keeps saying time out. Today the pupils visited a shopping mall and they were supposed to take care of their own dinner( they were given a sum of money). My group decided on pizza hut. Their organisation skills really surprised me. They ordered their food and sat in the resturant and ate to their fills. Pizza really is the way to go for NYPS kids.

Teachers, thank you for the update again... Yes, I think the kids had a tough day today but I'm sure it is a lesson to be learnt. Please continue to encourage them that what is lost (that is physical items) can always be replaced, but what is most valuable is the friendships they build, the knowledge they gained and the memories that will be everlasting and will never ever be replaceable!! Photographs can always be shared... special moments will always be in their hearts and these will bring warmth and smiles to their faces, year after year...

I know Brian is extremely down and dejected because of the camera loss.. all the candid shots of his friends, expedition etc.... and now that I know more kids are affected, I hope the teachers and the other kids will help cheer and booster one another on...Tell them not to give up.. the sun will always shine in their path!! Enjoy, enjoy.. the next valuable 2 days in Shanghai!

3 cheers for NYPS kids - hip hip hoorayx3!

Send lots of love and hugs to all of them,
Bita (Brian's mom)

Hi Beta,

From Axl, we are sorry to hear about Brian's lost and he misses home too. As u mentioned, the camera and pictures are just material stuffs, I'm sure the effort the teachers and the kids trying to retrieve the lost items are invaluable bonding among them, these will be some of the precious moments from the trip that they will treasure. Axl will share his camera with Brian and snap as many pictures as Brian likes. We will have it downloaded from the camera and email to him (Axl has his email address).

Mr Low, not to worry. These kids may be extremely tired and homesick, but they will miss the trip once they are back and wish it has not ended so soon.

Cheers,
Axl's Parent

Dear Chua,

Thanks for the great offer ~ I am very grateful!! This is also a great bonding time for the parents with other parents, don't you agree? I truly appreciate all your support.

Teachers, in our hustle and bustle and concern for our children, we sometimes forget to say "THANKS!" to you, for all that you are doing for the children. Just want to say a big THANK YOU.

Take care all. See you at the airport tomorrow!

Cheers,
Bita

Dear Mr Pang, Mr Low, Mrs Lum & Mrs Woo,

It's never a simple task to manage 40 kids, 24/7, especially when they fall ill, home sick, oversleep, misplace belonging,... etc.

Thanks for the patience, encouragements and caring rendered to the kids. Thanks for updating blog daily. We greatly appreciated!

Hi Mrs Lum,
Thank you for attending Mindy when her nose bled last night. She said her nose does not bleed anymore. Thanks.

Hi Bita & Chua,
I fully agree that the experience, the bonding with teachers & friends, and knowledge the kids' gained during the trip, the precious moment would be everlasting... I think this variety (trip) is the spice of life to the kids! Have a good week ahead!

Hi kids,
Be determined and you're 1 more day closer to home! See you tomorrow at Changi Airport!

Best regards,
Mindy's parents
